Save Our Overages (SOO) – Pronounced “Sue”

Posted August 10th, 2007 by Joe Kaiser

What do call three guys in a room plotting to put you, a competitor, out of business?

Dear Rob,

A buddy of mine posed the following question on a real estate board a few months ago:

“Joe” he said, “knowing what you know now, in light of the AG’s lawsuit against you, what would you do differently?”

And silly me, I couldn’t think of anything.

Well, I’ve thought of something . . . I’d sue.

the nonsense ends

Had I to do it all over again, I’d sue the first county treasurer or county prosecutor giving me any grief about dealing in tax sale overages.

I’d call them on their Save Our Overage (SOO) nonsense and nip their interference in the bud. Had I done that earlier, none of the rest of this happens.

I sue and win, clearly establishing what the law says (and what is does not say), all the subsequent grief, threats, name-calling, loss of profits, and AAG’s-gone-wild lawsuit stuff never happens.

Yes, JT, that’s exactly what I’d do differently.

Don’t even think about it, Bob

But, it’s not too late.

Why not?

Because I will make you this promise . . . the first county guy or gal who pulls any of that “it’s your money” nonsense in an attempt to derail one of my deals had better be prepared for what follows.

And what is that?

I won’t hesitate to sue.

Bob, Sandy, Linda, Carol, Lisa, Alan, Barbara, and all the rest of you, be advised . . . I’m done playing nice.

three men and an overage

What do call three guys in a room plotting to put you, a competitor, out of business?

And what do you call it when they deploy that plan by calling your customers and telling them they’ve been cheated and you’re a scam artist?

I won’t say the word just yet, but you’d better believe, it’s on the tip of my tongue, Rob.

Respectfully,

Joe Kaiser

    Greetings,

Conspiracy ? Torturous Interference ? Racketeering ? I’m not sure. Maybe you should frame it as a multiple choice question.

We can even play one of their favorite games; Stack the Charges.

    Thank you.
